Nature of Work:
Welding, burning, rigging, climbing steel, walking on narrow steel members at extreme heights, lifting heavy materials.

Physical Demands
Must be in excellent health with strong back and knees. Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds. Should have the ability to climb, balance, stoop,' kneel, crouch, crawl and withstand heights.

Base Wages
Beginnmg Apprentice $16.50 per hour
Journeyman $33.00 per hour
(Current to June 1, 2011)

Working Conditions
Outside, with exposure to excessive noise, high temperatures (both heat and cold), dust, fumes, smoke, dealing with being at extreme heights and working from ladders, scaffolds and lifts.

Training Duration
Four year program, college accredited class, 4,004 hours of on the job traing, 664 total minimum class hours in the apprentice program.

Applicants must meet the following requirements

NO EXEPTIONS

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

  2. Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  3. Provide copies of the following documents when submitting the applicaiton:
    A) Valid proof of age (Picture ID, Birth Certificate or Drivers License)
    B) High School Diploma or G.E.D. Test Scores

Structural Iron Work
Applications will be accepted Monday thru Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 9:OO a.m. and 11:00 a.m. year-round.

Reinforcing Iron Work
Applications will be accepted Monday thru Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. year round.
